NESSIE is part of the European Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme 2021-2027.

NESSIE has focused on the programme priorities of:

-Raising awareness of the importance of reinforcing the European integration process based on solidarity:
the project has contributed to this priority by fostering mutual understanding and highlighting issues and themes that are common among different EU communities, thus creating space for debate, exchange and the joint proposal of constructive solutions and recommendations. In particular solidarity as a basic concept has been promoted, as a funding value of EU, together with the European Charter of Fundamental Rights, to stimulate the reinforcement of a sense of belonging to the EU project, really able to unite in diversity and to defend the human rights of all its citizens. This has led to underline the need to is awareness of the importance of the integration process, based on solidarity and common values.
-Fostering a sense of belonging to Europe by promoting the debate on the Future of Europe: NESSIE has tackled the issue of the defence of urban and naturalistic environments from an unruled development, fostering the proposal of bottom-up solutions for more sustainable spaces and buildings that can unite the need of growth and investments with the safeguard of traditional urban settings and naturalistic heritage.  Moreover, to enhance the understanding of the EU support on these themes, the initiative of the New European Bauhaus has been promoted and discussed by the participants, to also propose ways to participate in the co-creation phase.
